Miss Young

Hello, I am Miss Young. I received the following email. It is a socalled "Advance Fee Fraud" letter, where I am promised millions for my assistance. These stories are all lies, and if I respond, sooner or later I will be asked to pay a fee. If I pay, another fee will quickly come up, and it will continue that way until I give up or run out of money. I will never see the millions, because they never existed.

If you received a similar email, you should go to the homepage to read more about 419 fraud.

From: Dr Garry Mumford
Kimson Finance & Associates ltd.
Stansted Mountfitchet Essex. UK.

I have been directed to contact you with regards to ongoing investigations involving a deceased client of Lloyd TSB Private Banking Ltd. The client, who shared the same last name with you, died intestate so it is standard and mandatory that a next of kin be sought who may inherit the estate. Kindly clarify the following:

- Are you aware of any relative of yours whose last known contact address was Brussels, Belgium, with investments of considerable value with Lloyd TSB Private Banking Ltd?

- If you answered yes to the above then can you establish beyond reasonable doubt your eligibility to assume status of next of kin to the deceased?

Understand that we are at this point contstained to share more details of this matter with you. We will need to hear from you urgently and hope you can assist us in bringing this inquiry to a conclusion. Please respond to my private email [ kimson.finance@w.cn ]below as soon as possible to afford us the opportunity to close this investigation. Thank you for accommodating our enquiries.

Yours sincerely,

I am Nicholas Hodson. I am contacting you as a follow up to an earlier contact which you received from a staff of Kimson Finance & Associates ltd on behalf of Lloyds TSB Private Bank PLC.

The attached Letter is highly confidential. Kindly read carefully and respond back accordingly. Thanks for your consideration.

Truly yours,
Nicholas Hodson,
Chief Investment Officer,
Lloyds TSB Private Bank Plc.

Private Banking

1
Dear Miss Young,
I am Nicholas Hodson, Chief Investment Officer; CIO, & Head of Investments, Wealth
Management at Lloyds TSB Private Banking Limited. A staff of Kimson Finance &
Associates ltd., for Lloyds TSB Private Banking LTD contacted you earlier concerning
Mr. Frank Young and an investment placed under our banks management. I would
respectfully request that you keep the contents of this mail confidential and respect the
integrity of the information you come by as a result of this mail. I contact you
independently of our investigation and no one is informed of this communication. I
would like to intimate you with certain facts that I believe would be of interest to you. In
2000, the subject matter, Mr. Frank Young came to our bank to engage in business
discussions with our private banking/wealth management division, which is Lloyds TSB
Private Banking Limited. He informed us that he had a financial portfolio of Twelve
million four hundred and fifty thousand Great Britain Pounds (£12,450,000.00GBP),
which he wished to have us turn over (invest) on his behalf.
I was the officer assigned to his case; I made numerous suggestions in line with my duties
as the de-facto chief investment officer of the wealth management sector, especially
given the volume of funds he wished to put into our bank. We met on numerous
occasions prior to any investments being placed. I encouraged him to consider various
growth funds with prime ratings. The favored route in my advice to customers is to start
by assessing data on 6000 traditional stocks and bond managers and 2000 managers of
alternative investments. Based on my advice, we spun the money around various
opportunities and made attractive margins for our first few months of operation, the
accrued profit and interest stood at this point at over 10 million Great Britain Pounds, this
margin was not the full potential of the fund but he desired low risk guaranteed returns on
investments. In late 2003, he asked that the money be liquidated because he needed to
make an urgent investment requiring cash payments in Antwerp, Belgium. He directed
that I liquidate the funds and had it deposited with a firm in Spain. I informed him that
Lloyds Bank would have to make special arrangements to have this done and in order not
to circumvent due process, the bank would have to make a 9.5 % deduction from the
funds to cater for banking and statutory charges. He complained about the charges but
later came around when I explained to him the complexities of the task he was asking of
us. A cash movement across boarders has become especially strict since the incidents of
9/11. I undertook all the processes and made sure I followed his precise instructions to
the letter and had the funds deposited with a Madrid based security consultancy firm,
which is an especially private firm that accepts deposits from high net worth individuals
and blue chip corporations that handle valuable products or undertake transactions that
need immediate access to cash. This small and highly private organization is familiar
2
especially to the highly placed and well-connected organizations. Mr. Frank Young
told me he wanted the money there in anticipation of his arrival from Belgium later that
week. This was the last communication we had, this transpired around 25th February,
2004.
In November last year, we got a call from the Security Consultancy firm informing us of
the inactivity of that particular portfolio. This was an astounding position as far as I was
concerned, given the fact that I am the Chief Investment Officer and Head of
Investments, Wealth Management sector I was the only one who knew about the deposit
at the Security Consultancy firm, and I could not understand why Mr. Frank Young
had not come forward to claim his deposit. I made futile efforts to locate Mr. Frank
Young. I immediately passed the task of locating him to the internal investigations
department of Lloyds Bank. Four days later, information started to trickle in; apparently
Mr. Frank Young was dead. A person who suited his description was declared dead of
a heart attack in Cannes, South of France. We were soon enough able to identify the body
and cause of death was confirmed. The bank immediately launched an investigation into
possible surviving next of kin to alert about the situation and also to come forward to
claim his estate. If you are familiar with private banking affairs, those who patronize our
services usually prefer anonymity, but also some levels of detachment from conventional
processes. In his bio-data form, he listed no next of kin. In the field of private banking,
opening an account with us means no one will know of its existence, accounts are rarely
held under a name; depositors use numbers and codes to make the accounts anonymous.
This bank even gives the choice to depositors of having their mail sent to them or held at
the bank itself, ensuring that there are no traces of the account and as I said, rarely do
they nominate next of kin. Private banking clients apart from not nominating next of kin
also usually in most cases leave wills in our care, in this case; Frank Young died
intestate.
In line with our internal processes for account holders who have passed away, we
instituted our own investigations in good faith to determine who should have right to
claim the estate. This investigation has for the past months been unfruitful. We have
scanned every continent and used our private investigation affiliate companies to get to
the root of the problem. It is this investigation that resulted in my being furnished with
your details as a possible relative of the deceased. My official capacity then and now
dictates that I am the only party to supervise the investigation and the only party to
receive the results of the investigation. You have unfortunately being declared as having
in no way affiliated with this individual. What this means, you being the last batch of
names we have considered, is that our dear late fellow died with no known or identifiable
family member. This leaves me as the only person with the full picture of what the
prevailing situation is in relation to the deposit and the late beneficiary of the deposit.
According to practice, the Security Consultancy firm will by the end of this year
broadcast a request for statements of claim to Lloyds TSB Private Banking, failing to
receive viable claims they will revert the deposit back to Lloyds TSB Private Banking.
This will result in the money entering the Lloyds Bank accounting system and the
portfolio will be out of my hands and out of the Wealth Management division. This will
not happen if I have my way.
3
What I wish to relate to you will smack of unethical practice but I want you to understand
something. It is only an outsider to the banking world who finds the internal politics of
the banking world aberrational. The world of private banking especially is fraught with
huge rewards for those who sit upon certain chairs and oversee certain portfolios. You
should have begun by now to put together the general direction of what I propose. There
is £12,450,000.00 deposited in Madrid-Spain, I alone have the deposit details and they
will release the deposit to no one unless Lloyds Bank instructs them to do so. I alone
know of the true nature and existence of this deposit for as far as Lloyds Bank is
concerned, all outstanding interactions in relation to the file are just customer services
and due process. The Security Consultancy firm has no single idea of the history or
nature of the deposit. They are simply awaiting instructions to release the deposit to any
party that my department may direct. This is the situation. This bank has spent great
amounts of money trying to track this man's family; we have investigated for months and
have found no family. The investigation has come to an end. My proposal; you share
similar details to the late fellow; I am prepared to nominate you as the closet surviving
relation to the deceased. Lloyds Bank will therefore instruct the Security Consultancy
firm to release the deposit to you. Upon receipt of the deposit, I am prepared to share the
money with you in half. That is: I will simply nominate you as the next of kin and have
them release the deposit to you. We share the proceeds 50/50.
I would have gone ahead to ask the funds be released to me, but that will draw a straight
line to me and my involvement with claiming the deposit. But on the other hand, you
with the same surname as the original depositor would easily pass as the beneficiary or
next of kin with right to claim. I assure you that I could have the deposit released to you
within a few days.
I am aware of the consequences of this proposal. I ask that if you find no interest in this
project that you should discard this mail. I ask that you do not be vindictive and
destructive. If my offer is of no appeal to you, delete this message and forget I ever
contacted you. Do not destroy my career because you do not approve of my proposal.
You may not know this but people like me who have made a tidy sum out of comparable
situations run the whole private banking sector. I am not a criminal and what I do, I do
not find against good conscience, this may be hard for you to understand, but the
dynamics of my industry dictates that I make this move. Such opportunities only come
one's way once in a lifetime. I cannot let this chance pass me by, for once I find myself in
total control of my destiny. I ask that you do not destroy my chance, if you will not work
with me let me know and let me move on with my life but do not destroy me. I am a
family man and this is an opportunity to provide my family with new and much greater
opportunities. There is a reward for this project and it is a task well worth undertaking. I
have evaluated the risks and the only risk I have here is from you refusing to work with
me and alerting my bank. I am the only one who knows of this situation, good fortune has
blessed you with a name that has planted you into the center of relevance in my life. Let's
share the blessing.
4
If you find yourself able to work with me, contact me through this same email account. If
you give me positive signals, I will initiate this process towards a conclusion. I wish to
inform you that should you contact me via official channels; I will deny knowing you and
about this project. I repeat, I do not want you contacting me through my official phone
lines nor do I want you contacting me through my official email account. Contact me
only through the numbers which I will subsequently provide to you and also through this
email address. I do not want any direct link between you and me. My official lines are not
secure lines as they are periodically monitored to assess our level of customer care in line
with our Total Quality Management Policy. I am aware of this fact having once served as
the Director of Marketing and Communications. Please observe this instruction
religiously. Please, again, note I am a family man; I have a wife and children. I send you
this mail not without a measure of fear as to what the consequences, but I know within
me that nothing ventured is nothing gained and that success and riches never come easy
or on a platter of gold. This is the one truth I have learned from my private banking
clients. Do not betray my confidence.
I await your response.
Truly yours,
Nicholas Hodson.

Private Banking

1
Dear Miss Young,
I will state the very crucial issues here as I have to leave the office to attend to personal
matters. You see, my daughter has recently taken ill and was admitted in the hospital this
morning for further medical care. I will need for us to conclude this project in the shortest
possible time, so I can be in a position to give her fullest attention and provide her with
The best facilities I will be able to afford. What I tell you below, I have told you already,
but I restate here again for the avoidance of doubt or confusion.
In everything one does with another: there must be a meeting of minds. In Latin, it's
called "consensus ad idem". A meeting of minds Without us both seeing and assessing
the situation through the same lenses there cannot and will never be success or progress.
So please leave your mind and your heart open to assess our operations with a brave and
transparent heart.
I will be the "primus inter pares"; this again is Latin meaning first amongst equals. I need
for you to follow my every instruction and do exactly as I say. You should let me direct
this project for us to have success. It is when there is no leadership and no meeting of
minds that there are problems. Remember this always. My first concern is security. I
mean getting this project behind us with no backlash. Nothing good comes easy but
planning and strategy integration and efficient modus operandi help more than a little.
The file relating to this case is under my care not only in my capacity as project manager
but also as the departmental head. The detail of this project is known only to Lloyds TSB
Private Ltd (of which as you know I am the overall authority) and the administrative
department of the bank. All our clients and their status are updated on a fortnightly basis.
Every few days, the admin department asks me for a status report on the activities of the
cases under my care. I am not obliged to give detailed reports but I must give them basic
information.
I have filed in a report signaling that Mr. Frank's next of kin has been identified and
The title passed on. Thus, I and I only, have knowledge as to what is going on with Mr.
Frank files. The risk element is now zero. This is guaranteed. At this point, I wish to give
you some information on the deceased Mr. Frank Young, just so that you can get
acquainted to these information's:
1) Full name of deceased: Frank Young
2) Last known address: No: 2 Wezzembeek
Oppem, (Avenue Des Fluers), Stokkel, Brussels, Belgium
3) Age at time of death: 72 years
4) Deceased mothers maiden name: Alonso
5) Date of birth of deceased: October 1st 1931.
6) Country of birth: Belgium
2
You must understand what we stand before, we are about to make a lot of money for
Our selves and for every time one makes significant progress in life there is a price to
Pay, As you should understand, this project is not a deviation from that natural law. As
agreed, we shall share the proceeds of this transaction equally, which is 50% each. It is
also my suggestion that we keep record of any expenses we incur within this process.
Once the transaction is completed, and funds in your possession, we will first settle all
calculated expenses, before proceeding to share the amount equally as agreed. I have
ensured due to the allowances of private banking that there is as little documentation
about this project as possible. I do not think having documents flying around is the best
way to commence, execute and conclude this project. Things are best done this way.
The security firm which presently holds the funds in Madrid, Spain, is a very private
Firm. They are affiliated with only top banks, sensitive firms and multi-nationals. They
Are private and exclusive. They are the only company that has the legitimacy to have
Assisted Lloyds TSB Private Banking with this sort of project. They are a security
deposit accepting
Firm working only on instructions from officials like myself. They accept no private
Deposits and all deposits are made on behalf of private citizens. They will not accept any
Deposit from a private individual except under special circumstances. Upon instructions
From Lloyds TSB Private Banking, the security firm will immediately release the funds
to you.
I wish to repeat myself in unequivocal terms: this is a private and confidential
Arrangement involving only me and you knowing the full and complete details. The
Success of this project is contingent on Confidentiality and Trust. I have worked in the
Banking world for many years and many consider me a guru in my field. I got to where I
Am today by being smart and hardworking, but most importantly by being disciplined.
You should follow my instructions. Lloyds TSB Private Limited is a closed and
Restricted world. What we have done is known to nobody and cannot be. I ask you to
Respect my efforts and not strive to contact the departments of my bank involved in this.
If you begin to follow their activities you will attract attention to this matter. Private
Banking is what the name reflects: Privacy. The bank respects the privacy of its high net
Worth clients and would not ask any questions or intrude in what is considered a private
Matter unless given a reason to do so. Do not contact me or my bank through any other
Channel other than my email account and my private phone number which I have
Provided to you.
I plan to see this project through and go into private business by establishing my own
Investment firm. I have been in the banking sector for years but all I really have is a
Name, no money to undertake anything tangible. I do not seek to justify myself for I am
at
Peace with myself. With my share of the money, I intend on opening an investment and
Financial consultancy firm. I have many friends who have money to invest but for me to
Be the captain of the firm, I must invest some money of my own. That's why this project
Is important to me. It's my key to the next stage of my life.
Once this transaction is concluded, you will hold on to my share until such a time as I can
3
Disengage from Lloyds TSB Private Banking and pursue my own private agenda. I plan
to travel to
Meet with you in the near future so we can meet in person. For the moment, I can
summarize by saying I have given instructions with your details to Lloyds TSB Private
Banking admin, admin will act upon it and initiate payment processes to the Security
Firm in Madrid. Admin will however require from you some documentation including an
affidavit which will be prepared by an attorney.
I have taken a leap of faith in proceeding the way I have with you but one thing I have
Learned from the wealthy private banking clients I manage is that nothing in life comes
Easy and nothing ventured, nothing gained. Know that I promise you from the bottom of
My heart that all is well and will end well. I will ensure that this project is handled in the
Most legal manner, ensuring that it is 100% risk free. This of course is for both our
Interests, again considering that I am highly placed at this bank and my reputation and
Security is also at risk. Please be rest assured of that. We should work towards
completing
This entire process within 10 working days.
My daughters' situation is eating into me too, there is a lot of stress and weight on my
Family at this point, know that we both need a new chance to provide new opportunities
For ourselves. I have a family I love very much and we must seize this opportunity to
Better both our lives and theirs'. We must take this situation seriously, great opportunities
Never come twice.
I hope you have a very nice day.
Truly yours,
Nicholas Hodson.

Please understand that from the onset my intention was that I would settle all costs that we incur. For this purpose I had earmarked some funds, but the cost of procuring the required documents turned out to be much more than I envisaged. I had to liquidate some assets in order to raise the required amount. Also, my daughter's condition is straining me financially which is why I am doing everything I can to ensure that we conclude this project as soon as possible so that I can afford to provide her the best medical care.

Kindly confirm if you can come up with the balance 2,000 gbp so that we can proceed.

Nicholas.
