Miss Young

Hello, I am Miss Young. I received the following email. It is about a charitable donation. It works just like a lottery scam. The scammers that sent the letter, wants me to pay them. I will not get anything from them. They will keep asking for more money until I give up or run out of money.

Go to the donations page to see more stories on false donations.

Hello,

I am indeed happy about this win as I was stunned for hours and could not believe it when I first saw the ticket match. Though my wife and I are living comfortably, we have always wanted to win the lottery so that we could give out more, so I know for sure that this win is for sharing.

I'd like you to know that I do understand if you have got doubts, but this can become a reality for you if you believe as donations of these dimensions are extremely rare. Below is a news feed to enable you verify and confirm our win.

We have concluded plans with my bank to remit funds to you, so I require you to immediately get back to me with the below information and on confirmation of your response, I will provide you with further information on receiving the fund.

We have made physical donations, also between ten different national charities and my wife and I came up with the idea of donating to some individuals over the internet. So we had to go look up email directories and randomly selected few emails and I that's how you got the email which you received from us.

Hoping to hear from you soon,

Best wishes,
Richard and Angela Maxwell.

A Lincolnshire woman told her husband "don't be so stupid" when he revealed they had won £53m on the lottery.
Richard and Angela Maxwell, both 67, from Boston, won £53,193,914 in the EuroMillions jackpot draw on Tuesday.
It is the 10th-biggest UK lottery win, with the couple saying they would help family and friends.
Mr Maxwell said he waited for four hours to tell his wife as she did not answer her mobile phone and then thought it was an April Fool's joke.
Mr Maxwell said he checked the results online on Wednesday and was left "in shock" when they matched.
