Miss Young

Hello, I am Miss Young. I received the following email. It is a socalled "Advance Fee Fraud" letter, where I am promised millions for my assistance. These stories are all lies, and if I respond, sooner or later I will be asked to pay a fee. If I pay, another fee will quickly come up, and it will continue that way until I give up or run out of money. I will never see the millions, because they never existed.

If you received a similar email, you should go to the homepage to read more about 419 fraud.

Hello ,

Thanks for your response and I know this will come as a surprise to you but first, let me formally introduce myself to you. I am Mrs. Sabine Backer, currently an audit executive at Weatherford Private Bank, United Kingdom. I'm contacting you concerning an abandoned sum of £3,800,000.00 GBP in our bank belonging to a former foreign customer. In October 2007, A customer named (Dung Luong), an international engineering contractor came to our bank for business discussions and investment, and as one of the officers in charge of his transactions then, I encouraged him to consider the various growth of funds with prime ratings. Then he invested Three Million, Eight Hundred Thousand Pounds based on my advice, and we were able to spin the initial deposit with profit and interest to an annual interest rate of 1.83%. After many months, our bank (Weatherford Private Bank) sent several notice to him without response and unfortunately, we later got information that our customer was involved in the September 2009 earthquake in Indonesia that left over 1,200 people dead and he died along with his nuclear family in the disaster while he was there on sabbaticals. May their souls rest in peace. He died without leaving a Will and several efforts were made to find his extended family through the embassy without success. Because of the sensitive nature of private banking, most customers do not nominate next of kin in their private investment, also usually in most cases leave their WILLS in our care. In this case, our now deceased customer died intestate.

It is quite clear now that our dear customer died with no known or identifiable family member. According to practice, the Private banking sector will by the end of this year broadcast a request for a statement of claim to Weatherford Private Bank, in failure to receive viable claims they will probably revert the deposit to the Management of the bank. And this will result in the money entering Weatherford Bank accounting system, the portfolio will be out of my hands and out of the private banking division. What bothers me most is that according to private banking investment policies in the UK, at the expiration of Ten {10} years such funds will revert to the ownership of the United Kingdom Government if nobody applies to claim the funds. Thus, this is where my proposal comes in.

Now, I am prepared to give the necessary details to you to stand as the closest surviving relation to our deceased customer (Dung Luong) whom you share the same surname and origin with. I am also proposing that after a successful execution of this transaction, the funds will be divided in the ratio 50:50. You will get 50% and I will be entitled to 50% as the initiator of the deal. You know that I must have done my homework thoroughly before contacting you. I know we will be able to pull it through following proper banking and legal channels with your assistance at your end as the presented next of kin. Once more, I ask that if you find no interest in this transaction, that you should discard this mail and forget I ever contacted you. I ask that you do not be vindictive and destructive; do not destroy my career. Opportunities like this only come once in a lifetime. I am a responsible family woman and this is an opportunity for me to give my family the best in life. I would want you to think about this and let me know your decision as fast as possible. If you give me a positive response, I will provide you the relevant information and steps for the successful claim of this fund, we will initiate this process towards a conclusion and we can both enjoy it in peace.

I wish to inform you that you should only contact me via this channel as it is privately operated and not via our official channels else I will deny knowing you and about this transaction. Our official channels are not secured means to reach me bearing in mind the nature of this transaction because we are periodically monitored to assess our level of customer relationship in line with our Total Quality Management. Please keep this strictly confidential.

I await your response.

Best Regards,
Sabine R. De Backer.
