Miss Young

Hello, I am Miss Young. I received the following email. It is a socalled "Advance Fee Fraud" letter, where I am promised millions for my assistance. These stories are all lies, and if I respond, sooner or later I will be asked to pay a fee. If I pay, another fee will quickly come up, and it will continue that way until I give up or run out of money. I will never see the millions, because they never existed.

If you received a similar email, you should go to the homepage to read more about 419 fraud.

Hi everybody,

As some of you might know I am currently volunteering at an orphanage in Benin Republic for a month, before starting to work back home. I am helping out at SOS Children' s Villages Africa (" Children of Africa" ) Orphanage in Benin Republic.

The primary focus of SOS Children' s Villages is to care for orphaned and other vulnerable children in Bassila/Abomey Village in Benin and to provide these children with a chance of a future. Here the kids are provided with basic human rights like food, shelter and education. There are currently 308 orphans and street children living at the orphanage, being between 1 and 17 years old.

Over the years, the orphanage has grown and achieved a lot. They now have electricity, running water and a small library with school books for the kids to study with. Moreover most of the kids make it to secondary school (which is well beyond the Benin average), and even a few to university. Still, the orphanage is really poor, isn' t well connected to organizations and donors and struggles mightily to come up with the necessary funds for food, school (fees, uniforms, books), etc.

We are currently working on making the orphanage more self-sustaining, trying to implement a milling business at the orphanage and extend our vegetable garden. We have also initiated talks concerning a co-operation with local tour groups to bring visitors to the orphanage to raise awareness for Abomey Benin Africa.

Most of these initiatives need initial funding unfortunately, but are important steps to set the orphanage up for future independence. Also school fees for some of our children still need to be paid, including the ones for our currently only university student Winnie.

Friends, think about it and please consider a small contribution to help the kids at SOS Children' s Villages Africa. A small donation already can make a big difference over here, especially concerning school fees, thus keeping the kids in school and setting them up for a promising future.

Please also share with your friends, family and everyone who might be interested in a good cause like this and might be willing to help! Thanks!

Needless to say that every single Cent of your donation is going directly to the orphanage and is used to 100% for the needs as described above.
