Dear
Sir/Madam,
The Global University of Athens
incorporated in the State of Massachusetts under its corporate laws and
regulations, is a private international university conferring undergraduate and
graduate degrees under authority of a charter granted by the Massachusetts Board of Education.
The Global University of Athens is a
professionally and academically recognized university in the European Union/Greece according to Articles 11 and 12
of Act 2005/36/EEC of 7th September 2005.The Global University of Athens is a
teaching and research institution comprising three schools: The School of
Computer, Natural Science and Engineering, The School of Business
Administration, and The School of Graduate Studies.
Over the years many thousands of
international students have chosen to study at GUA and the number of countries
represented at the School continues to expand. In 2004/2005 nearly 30% of
undergraduate and postgraduate students are from outside the European Union.
At GUA we make every effort to help you
settle in to your new surroundings and provide support for your study. A three
day orientation programme is organized for all international students, usually
on the weekend before the start of a term. In-sessional English language
courses are available for students who feel that they need extra help with
their English, while the Student Welfare Office can offer advice on matters
such as visas, working, finance and budgeting.
