Hi Manju
Thanks so much for your message. Sgt. Jarvis Reeves has already told
me about you and time is not on our side. The money is available here
in cash. You see for security reasons he may not often be in constant
contact with you. I am making arrangements
regarding the movement of the cash to you and you are not to
pay for the delivery charges. All that will be taking care of from here.
All that is required of you is that you arrange a propper and secure
place where the box will be delivered to. I will work on the best way
to move the funds out to you without anyone having prior knowledge of
the contents. I am in the US navy and assigned here in Iraq. Please
keep very secret for security reasons. I need to also know if you have
made arrangements regarding safe keeping of the funds when they get
to you. Let me know the banks you intending saving the cash and more
details about yourself, like what you do for a living, your family size,
your private telephone number, your full address and a potrait picture
of you.
God bless,
Patricia

Hi MANJU
Congratulations, this is to inform you that the box has been dispatched
yesterday night, sunday, via London to your address, the box had to
be routed via London because there are no direct cargo flights from
here. I cannot speak on the phone for security reasons as I would have
called you and it was not an easy task for me, but I thank God everything
went as planned and I only managed to get to a safe computer to send
this message to you. These past days have been very difficult and challenging
for me here in Kuwait; and coupled with the fact that Sgt Jarvis Reeves
has been assigned on a special combat duty in Fallujah which is the
strong hold of insurgents and due to the recent elections here in Iraq
and the recent terror attacks and series of bomb blasts and kiddnaps.
I thank God that by his grace I have succeeded to move the funds. It
consists of one large trunk box, and I had to remove the sum of $10,000
from the box, to pay for courier charges etc. Please note that all over
the world, diplomatic shipments are not been checked at any point of
entry. This is the safest means of sending the box of cash down to you.
Please do not entertain any fear, as everything has been well mapped
out and the funds have no trace to us. You also have to remember that
you are not to disclose the original contents of the box to the courier
company, as it was declared as containing vital diplomatic documents.
The courier company is not aware that the box contains money. If they
ask you, just tell them they are diplomatic documents. Contact the Mainlink
Diplomatic Courier in London. Their company telephone is: +44 7040 118910,
fax: 44-870-134-2055 email: mldc@europe.com try to confirm the exact
arrival date and time of the box and keep me posted. Please you have
to treat with absolute confidentiality for security reasons and I have
also attached a copy of the shipment airway bill. Do not tell anyone
or let them know that you are expecting cash. You never can tell who
is who. Please reply me as soon as you receive this message, I will
head back to Iraq immediately, as I have to report back to base. I will
apply for an honorable discharge from the US navy next week, but i will
have to do this smartly so I can follow up to meet with you in your
country for us to commence with the banking and investment. As soon
as I know my arrival schedule, I will inform you so you can pick me
up from the airport. As soon as the courier company delivers to you,
please keep in a very safe place. We are counting so much on you, please
do not let us down and remember to keep secret. I will inform you when
I get to Iraq, thank you. Contact the courier company immediately and
find out the exact delivery date and time and let me know.
God bless,
Patricia Lamotte

over some missing Saddam money, though we are lucky not to be involved
in this, but I want you to receive the box on time as I am worried.

Subject: Re: passport
To the attention of Manju
Sequel to your email message on passport, when we tried to do the clearance
at the airport this evening, the customs informed us that your international
passport is an ordinary one and it's not required for this type of clearance.
Since your shipment is a world wide diplomatic shipment (as stated
in your shipment airway bill) a diplomatic passport or a non-inspection
certificate is required to do the clearance here in England. Without
a diplomatic passport or a non-inspection certificate, your shipment
will be opened for inspection by the customs. Since your shipment was
stated from the origin and tagged as a diplomatic shipment, we have
to act accordingly as not to open for inspection because of its diplomatic
status.
Since you do not have a diplomatic passport, I could help you arrange
for a non-inspection certificate from a diplomat here in England. But
you see the diplomat wouldn't just help for a handshake. On the other
hand, you can come down to the London Heathrow airport, to sign the
relevant parts on your shipment, to avoid going through all this. Though
we have handled a similar case like this some time ago, through the
help of a diplomat, we helped one of our clients out who had similar
problem like yours.
You see the good thing about this is that after the clearance here
in England, there would be no further customs check in Singapore. This
is because of the bilateral relationship between England and Singapore.
Please inform me immediately if you want me to contact the diplomat
on your behalf, so that he can start preparing the non-inspection certificate
or if I should go ahead and pass your shipment through customs for the
normal customs / security checks.
Assuring you of our best services,
I remain.

From: Patricia Lamotte <patricia_lamotte@yahoo.com>
Hi Manju,
Thanks for your message. When I went to the bank here in Baghdad to
make the payment to the courier company, I was told that foreign currency
transfers has been banned here. This is one problem in this country;
as sending money through the banks abroad is now impossible. I also
tried to see if I could send the money in bits to you by western union,
but I was told that sending money by any means is no more allowed out
of this country. This is one of the reasons why we did not even transfer
the whole money through the banks in the first place as a lot of questions
would be asked about the nature of the money and this for sure would
jeopardise things.
All these are due to the war going on here. Please get back to the courier
company as quickly as possible and make the payments to them. Please
do everything you can to pay the courier company the money they require;
you dont worry, after delivery you can open the box secretly and take
whatever money you have spent. Just do anything you can do as fast as
possible so that the courier company will deliver to you on time. I
will give you my flight schedule before I start coming, so that you
will pick me up from the airport. Right now, I have not been granted
my duty break so I cannot leave now. As soon as I know when I will leave,
I will for sure let you know and start coming over to meet you. We are
putting our hopes in your hands, please do not let us down. On no account
will you let the courier company know that the box contains cash, please
be very careful about this. You must tell the courier company to make
sure they deliver to you immediately and let me know when you make the
payment and also the delivery date and time.
Meet you soon my friend.
God bless,
Patricia

hI,
You know you are making money in this and not just money, but millions
of dollars. So what are you talking about here. My whole life are in
that box and for security reasons I cannot contact the courier company
from her. Please beg them for assistance so that they will deliver to
you and afterwards you can pay them secretly from the box. Please be
very smart with whatever you are doing.

Sequel to your email message, I have just contacted the diplomat on
your behalf and he says for him to prepare the non-inspection
certificate, which allows your shipment pass through customs
without checks. He demands to be paid £4,000
(pounds).
The good thing about this is that after the clearance with the non-inspection
certificate here in England, there will be no further customs checks
in your country.
To save time and to avoid demurrage charges, kindly send by western
union money transfer or money gram the sum of £4,000 (Great British
Pounds) in trenches to the name of my assistant and to my name in London:
- Philip BARKER = 2,000 Pounds
- Sandra SMITH = 2,000 pounds
After the payment, send the payment details and control numbers to
our fax or email to enable us place your shipment unto the next available
flight to you. The diplomat wants the money paid to him ASAP as he is
not ready to accept at a later date.
The diplomat has already started processing the non-inspection certificate
and it will be ready later this afternoon. As soon as he brings the
certificate and we are through with the clearance, he will immediately
get paid and I will proceed with the delivery to you.
There is another cargo flight which leaves tomorrow evening and I do
not want to miss it. Kindly respond back to me ASAP regarding the payment,
to enable me catch up with the flight and deliver to you on time.

I am still waiting for your message on payment to enable me deliver

Since Manju did not send them money, the story ends here.
The courier company does not exist. The email accounts used by Patricia
and Philip are free email accounts. The telephone number is a "personal
number", which means that calls can be forwarded to any telephone
in the world.
